How I decorate the dinner table!
One of our family’s happiest moments is when there is a celebration! We celebrate birthdays, name days and successes accompanied by dinner with family and friends. Occasionally we get together just to reconnect and have fun!
After I have organised the house and everything is clean, tidied and all the rooms are well lit, I start thinking about the dinner table decoration.
For me, setting a table that makes my guests feel special is very important. This way I know they can enjoy the dinner to the fullest. I have no knowledge of decorating, so I act according to what I would prefer to have in a similar situation.
The most important thing for decorating the table is to choose the base, which is either a tablecloth or placemats. Then I try to match the plates and the cutlery I’m going to use. Napkins is the connecting piece of all the above. I prefer to use paper napkins because I can choose from a variety of colours, textures and shapes. This way I can add character to my table.
If I managed to combine tablecloth, plates, cutlery and napkins, I’m ready for the finishing touch! I love to cut flowers from our garden and put them in little glasses that are spread out all over the table. Or maybe place a long green or colourful branch in the middle of the table.
I remember once we had a barbecue gathering and I chose to set a red and white checkered tablecloth, red napkins, and white plates and I put lemons all over the table for anyone who wanted to use them.
Candles are also a classic and safe decoration for any occasion, day or night. I prefer to use them for evening dinners because I strongly believe they can add elegance and warmth to the event.
With a little imagination and a lot of love, decorating the table becomes a delightful process!
