I like flowers! I love them! I always stop and look at the flower shops. I love the freshness of flowers, the different smells, the different colours, shapes, and compositions I can create. I usually try to have flowers in my house, because they make me happy!
I am lucky enough to live in the countryside, on a small hill, so I have access to flowers and plants all year round. When I make a flower wreath I prefer to choose flowers from the field because they are smaller in size than the ones I find in the flower shop which makes them easier for me to handle and because the variety of colours is amazing.

It’s easier for me to do a little preparation before I go out to cut flowers. So I gather all the tools and materials I’m going to use so it’s easier to work without interruptions. I always have a wire cutter with me that I use to cut wire, flower stems and greenery. I also have a pair of scissors and floral wire.
You have roughly five options for the base. You can use wire, a flexible woody log, styrofoam for DIY wreaths, stiff paper, or foam tubes (like those used for swimming). I usually use vine or ivy trunks, because I have plenty in my garden. When deciding which type of base to use, keep in mind the size of the wreath you want. If it’s too big, you need a more stable base.

So pick as many flowers as you want, cut and prepare them, and then start placing them. Although I have watched many videos on how to make flower wreaths, I prefer to use my imagination. I like to combine the flowers according to my mood and the amount of flowers I have with me. Sometimes I fill the base only with flowers, other times I use ribbons or small things. For example in the Easter wreath, I put small red eggs. Most of the time I like to have a green base because it contrasts nicely with the flowers.
My secret for a beautiful flower wreath is fresh flowers, a good mood, and a little bit of imagination!
